Our favourite futon! Expensive but worth it. A superb design, beautifully made. Not just a great sofa and bed but also a wonderful day bed.

The Cuba comes only in double bed size – think of it like a Panama turned the other way – that is, you sleep down the length of the sofa. A clever klik klak hinge makes conversion simplicity itself: lift the seat until you hear the klik, then drop the seat back down. There's also the added attraction of an intermediate position.

Beech slats – the type we use on our bed bases - add to the comfort. They're curved and adjust to your profile by flattening slightly under your hips and shoulders.

Double bed size only: select the futon colour from the pop up menu when you order. The Cuba looks best with a removable loose cover – in the same or a different fabric.

For the frame choose either clear or stained pine or a totally hardwood version: ash, beech or oak.
